The headband is a contemporary traditional, which has dominated social media feeds all summer time. They arrive in all sizes and shapes, from traditional bandana motifs to romantic florals, daring Bauhaus prints to retro paisleys. Tie it in your hair, wrap it round your hips, hold one tied to your bag, put on it as a halter bandeau on trip or to dinner with broad leg pants and a tuxedo jacket, as a belt threaded via your denims or round your coat. Drape it over a baseball cap and tie it underneath your chin for that off-duty mannequin look–don’t neglect the cats-eye sunnies, and if it’s generously sized use it as a makeshift pareo worn with a fantastic knit sweater come late summer time for that post-holiday vibe.
A press release scarf is a favorite of Outdated Hollywood icons and rock royalty that’s now mimicked by at present’s model set. For some references I really like: Renée Perle’s painterly perfection, Slim Keith’s uptown cool, Grace Kelly (who famously wore a Hermès scarf as an arm sling), Jackie Kennedy’s signature look and David Bowie, who wore his as a cravat, clearly influenced by Cary Grant.
